WHY WOULD GOD CALL ME INTO THE MINISTRY WORK & NOT SUPPLY ALL MY NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES AND GLORY THROUGH CHRIST JESUS?
"My God shall supply all your needs" is a famous Bible verse from Philippians 4:19, promising that God will provide everything believers require, not just materially but also spiritually and emotionally, drawing from His infinite riches in glory through Jesus Christ, especially as a response to faith and generosity.
ROB GOD BY NOT GIVING UP YOUR TITHES AND OFFERING
FOR HIS MINISTRY WORK
Malachi 3:8-18
King James Version
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
TITHES & OFFERING IS PAY FOR WORKERS SET ASIDE FOR HIS MINISTRY WORK Numbers 18:21-32
“I’m giving the Levites all the tithes of Israel as their pay for the work they do in the Tent of Meeting.
Starting now, the rest of the People of Israel cannot wander in and out of the Tent of Meeting; they’ll be penalized for their sin and the penalty is death.
It’s the Levites and only the Levites who are to work in the Tent of Meeting and they are responsible for anything that goes wrong. This is the regular rule for all time.
They get no inheritance among the People of Israel; instead I turn over to them the tithes that the People of Israel present as an offering to GOD.
That’s why I give the ruling: They are to receive no land-inheritance among the People of Israel.”
* * * GOD spoke to Moses: “Speak to the Levites. Tell them, When you get the tithe from the People of Israel, the inheritance that I have assigned to you, you must tithe that tithe and present it as an offering to GOD.
Your offerings will be treated the same as other people’s gifts of grain from the threshing floor or wine from the wine vat.
This is your procedure for making offerings to GOD from all the tithes you get from the People of Israel: give GOD’s portion from these tithes to Aaron the priest. Make sure that GOD’s portion is the best and holiest of everything you get. “Tell the Levites, When you offer the best part, the rest will be treated the same as grain from the threshing floor or wine from the wine vat that others give. You and your households are free to eat the rest of it anytime and anyplace—it’s your wages for your work at the Tent of Meeting. By offering the best part, you’ll avoid guilt, you won’t desecrate the holy offerings of the People of Israel, and you won’t die.
In the biblical system, tithes and offerings for the Levites were essential for maintaining the nation’s spiritual life.
Because the tribe of Levi was not granted a land inheritance like the other tribes, God designated the tithes of the entire nation as their "wages" and "inheritance" in exchange for their service at the Tabernacle.
The Three Primary Tithes
While many people think of "the tithe" as a single 10% payment, the Old Testament actually outlines three distinct types that benefited the Levites and the community:
The Levitical Tithe (The First Tithe): This was a 10% portion of all produce and livestock given annually to the Levites for their sustenance and work at the Tent of Meeting.
The Festival Tithe (The Second Tithe): This 10% was set aside by families to fund their travel and food for religious feasts in Jerusalem.
The Levites were specifically invited to join these celebrations to ensure they were not neglected during holiday times.
The Poor Tithe (The Third Tithe): Collected every three years, this tithe was stored locally in towns to support the Levites, orphans, widows, and foreigners in need.
Levitical Responsibilities
In return for receiving these tithes, the Levites were required to:
Give a "Tithe of the Tithe": The Levites had to take 10% of the tithes they received—specifically the "best and holiest" part—and give it to the Aaronic priests.
Maintain Worship: They were responsible for the physical upkeep of the Tabernacle (and later the Temple), leading music, and assisting with sacrifices.
Teach the Law: They served as the primary educators of the community, teaching God’s word and helping with the administration of justice.
Biblical Requirements & Context
Source Material: Tithes were primarily agricultural—crops, fruit, and every tenth animal that passed "under the rod".
Consequences of Neglect: Failing to provide these tithes was viewed as "robbing God," as it led to Levites abandoning their spiritual duties to work in fields for survival.
New Testament Shift: Many modern Christian teachings, such as those found on Tithe.ly, suggest that while the 10% legal requirement was fulfilled by Christ, the principle of supporting those in ministry remains a central act of worship
