WHAT POWER AUTHORITY DOMINION DOES HE HAVE?
Jesus took back power, authority, and dominion from the devil primarily through his sacrificial death and resurrection.
By dying, Jesus rendered the devil powerless (Hebrews 2:14-18),
14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—
15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.
17 For this reason he had to be made like them,[k] fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Key Aspects of How Jesus Took Back Power
The Cross (Crucifixion): †Jesus took away the legal grounds of Satan's power (sin and death) by taking them upon himself.
†He "disarmed principalities and powers" and made a public display of them, showing they were defeated.†
His Resurrection: By overcoming death, Jesus broke the "sting" of death and the devil's power, taking the keys of Hades and Death.
The Ascension: Jesus was exalted to the right hand of God, placing him far above all demonic authority.
Delegated Authority: Jesus did not keep this power only for himself, but gave it to believers, allowing them to act in his name to exercise authority over the darkness.

The Bible indicates that authority was legally lost by Adam and Eve and then misused by the devil. Jesus, being sinless, did not owe a debt to death.

The Current Status of Dominion
The Power is Broken: Satan is a defeated foe (Colossians 2:15).

Delegation to the Church: Believers are told they are seated with Christ, inheriting authority over demonic forces.
Temporary Limitation: While Satan still prowls, his power is limited to what he is allowed, and the believer is protected by the greater power of Christ (1 John 4:4).
